Sometimes, nothing seems to be working

There are days when you wish that you haven’ got out from bed at all. We all have them; some more of them, and some less, but we all react differently when they happen.

In my case, they don’t happen often, but when they do, they can last more than I can expect.

I’ve been busy at work

I really have a lot of classes during the summer camp in the school in which I work, and that requires a lot of preparation and therefore less time for writing and anything else.

Up until now, I’ve been handling my time management pretty well, but this week is a disaster. I’ve been struggling with my newly started blog and I haven’t posted anything for a couple of days. Since two days ago I’ve been also struggling with my novel and I haven’t touched it because I was busy building my social media profiles (which I hate).

My laptop died

To top it all – this morning my laptop screen stopped working properly; it had some burned-in issues and I needed to send it to the service. It’s not a big deal, the display is still functional, but I still want it fixed before it gets worse. I’ve checked online and many people reported the same problem with Mi Air Notebook with the sharp display.  Luckily for me, I live in China and the first official repair service is just a mile away from my office while on the other hand, many people reporting that problem live way far from China.

Another perk of living in China is that sometimes your mail can get lost

Namely, I’ve ordered a book, The Story Solution by Eric Edson a couple of months ago and it still hasn’t arrived. After a lot of hesitation, I contacted the Book Depository customer service, but there was no luck because the Book Depository couldn’t provide me with a tracking number and the local sorting area cannot do anything without it, so it’s a loose-loose situation.

Let’s get back to work

Having to repair the laptop and not getting the book is not the end of the world, but it’s still depressing, but this time, I want to cut it early on.

I decided to just get back to work. I’ve printed my outline and for the next couple of days, until my laptop issue is resolved, I will be handwriting, like writers back in the good old days, and I will be writing blogs in the office.

I’ve decided not to give up and get the best results from the situation in which I’m in. It won’t be easy, but I will give my best not to make it even worse.
